ART FROM AROUND THE WORLD WORKS PLAN
I am hoping that we will be able to organise a way to share some artwork from around the world by focusing on a different artist every few months.
The timeline:
End of November: Paul Klee – German artist
End of January: Wassily Kandinsky - Russian artist
End of March: Yayoi Kusama – Japanese artist
End of May: Van Gogh – Dutch artist
For each month and artist, your children will create a piece of art which we could email to each other so your own class can see what the other children created.
Hopefully by focusing on a different artist, this will provide a good opportunity for discussion about cultures from different countries!
At the end of the project, each school that takes part should have a collection of artwork from other schools from around Europe that they could display in their school.
Each school will also have a resource that tells their children about these artists that they can share with their children.
PROJECT
This project focuses on engaging children from around Europe to participate in a project that encourages children to draw a piece of work inspired by artists from around the world. I hope this project will encourage the children to understand the diversity of art and culture as we move around the world.
I hope that every few months, the children will draw a picture that is inspired by a new country which can be shared on this Twinspace project account.
In this project, the children will hopefully learn about different artists from around the world, including their art techniques and influences.
The children will also learn how to create their own artwork based on the influences of these artists.
By sharing the children's artwork, the children will also learn about different countries around Europe, including demonstrating how other countries communicate through different languages.
